In the years until then, and for any remainder should the CT scanner ever be acquired, income earned can be combined with earnings from other donors in this Fund and be used to purchase capital equipment as selected by the Hospital and approved by the Foundation’s board. Operations Fund
This endowed Fund helps to provide financial support to offset the operating costs of the Foundation. The capital that has been endowed is from budget surpluses that have existed only because we have been fortunate to have had a very hands on, volunteer board who have done work that would normally have been done at a cost. Not only have these people contributed their time and effort for the benefit of the Foundation, because of their efforts the resulting endowment will make the burden of funding the operation of the Foundation less taxing in the future. The income earned each year is re-invested to grow the balance, or is withdrawn to pay for operating expenses. This is a Designated Fund.
