This year the Creston-Kootenay Foundation is proud to announce three new directors. These new directors are fabulous examples of the many talented and dedicated people who make our valley a better place. The board extends them a welcome and a thanks for the time they will take from their busy lives and the work they will do.

I was adopted from Haiti and have grown up in the Creston Valley for over 20 years. During my time in school in Creston I was involved in many volunteer efforts such as Relay for Life and coaching soccer. I completed many international volunteer trips to Haiti. I obtained my Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Okanagan College in 2020. Today I serve as the Community Economic Development Coordinator(Factor 5 Group Inc.) for Creston. I am honoured to continue to work and volunteer on behalf of the community.
I was born and raised in the Creston Valley and moved to Alberta after graduation to pursue my education in Graphic Design. I moved back to Creston in 1999 and over the course of 18 years I owned and operated two small businesses, until eventually selling. I am now employed by the Town of Creston as their Communications Coordinator.
I have always had a passion for project and event planning, and over the years have spent countless volunteer hours on many boards and committees, contributing my time to make the Creston Valley an even better place to live. I love bringing new energy, creative ideas, and a different way of thinking to any project that I am involved in.
I Moved to the Crescent Valley in 2006, I became interested in what was not happening in West Creston where I settled on a 2 acre piece of land with a house, I decided in 2008 that I was going to run for the position of regional Director for Area C, Which included Lower Wynndel Rd., Erickson back road up to 25th, goat river bottom road , the flats on Highway three, all of West Creston and up to the top of the summit, For the next 12 years I served on the regional district board of central Kooteney, I chaired the first Nations treaty advisory committee, I was vice chair of the east Kooteney Hospital Board for four years, I was a board member of the Columbia basin Trust, I sat on two of the committees while I was with the RDCK , I oversaw the taxation in rural Creston ensuring tax increases were kept to 0–1.2%. While on the RDCK I chaired the committee that was responsible for the recreation centre, the library, the museum and grave yards, whiles a board member with Columbia basin trust I was a member of the finance committee for four years and I chaired the investment committee for three years and I still sit on the investment committee and part of our responsibility is to give out grants, loans etc. I retired from 50+ years of working in the emergency services profession, I was a Navy seal diver with the Canadian Coast Guard, I was with the police service for three years and for 35 years I worked in prehospital care medicine with the BC ambulance service Retiring from there at a senior management position, I hope that my history in senior management, my financial background, my background in grant funding Is seen as an asset for this particular foundation that I’m willing to serve on, I have degrees in business administration and emergency medicine management, diplomas in financial management, performing internal investigations, dealing with troubled and trouble some employees and conflict resolution.
